About the Project
Raising Awareness of the Dangers of Irregular Migration II (RADIM II) is a migration-focused initiative implemented by Seefar across six governorates in Federal Iraq: Baghdad, Basra, Dhi Qar, Babylon, Nineveh, and Al-Muthanna.
The project aims to reduce irregular migration by raising awareness at individual and community levels, providing targeted psychosocial and practical support to at-risk youth, and connecting young people with viable local and overseas alternatives.
An important component of RADIM II is providing one-to-one advisory calls to young people to share information about irregular migration and connect eligible individuals with local alternatives or Seefar’s legal migration pathways service.
About the Position
Seefar is seeking a Referral Coordination Officer to connect young people with appropriate local service providers and Seefar’s legal migration pathways service, known as Dalil.
The successful candidate will coordinate referrals, follow up with young people to ensure they access the support offered, and maintain accurate records of referral outcomes while ensuring that all assistance meets Seefar’s standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive potential referrals from counsellors, prioritise cases, and develop monthly call schedules.
- Contact young people to assess changes in their circumstances since counselling and understand their current needs, interests, and aspirations.
- Explain available support options, including local service providers and legal migration pathways, and help young people make informed decisions.
- Obtain informed consent and refer 100 young people to their selected service provider in their governorate or to Seefar’s legal migration pathways expert.
- Follow up with referred individuals to confirm whether they have accessed the service and identify barriers preventing access.
- Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns in accordance with Seefar’s established procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all contacts, follow-up calls, and referral outcomes until each case is closed.
- Keep referral statuses updated and document every follow-up interaction.
- Attend and lead weekly counselling status meetings, provide referral updates, support counsellors in achieving targets, monitor progress, and discuss challenges.
- Participate in monthly or quarterly review meetings with referral partner organisations.
- Support the Project Manager in reviewing referral numbers, outcomes, challenges, and changes in available services.
